Introduction to MeM at NTU

Combines the theory and practice of engineering with the study of business and resource-based management, entrepreneurial leadership, new business ventures and small-to-medium enterprises.

This Engineering Management postgraduate degree has been designed to meet the increasing demand for postgraduates with an understanding of the application of business and management knowledge in the industrial and engineering sectors. The course will crucially provide you with a master’s level education in the theory and practice of engineering management, integrating aspects of resource-based management, engineering, leadership, change and enterprise, with particular emphasis on new business ventures and small business enterprises.

If you’re looking to work in the engineering and technology industries, this is an excellent fast-track conversion course for graduates from disciplines unrelated to engineering and computing.

Eligibility Criteria for MeM at NTU

You will need the following:

  • UK honours degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent.
  • Applicants with relevant employment experience or other relevant qualifications will also be considered.

We specify these minimum entry requirements, but we will assess you individually on your ability to benefit from the course. We sometimes offer places based on non-standard entry qualifications and industrial or professional experience.

  • ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.

Here are some tips to follow:

Make it relevant. Back up your statements with examples to illustrate how you’re suitable for the course and always ensure what you’re writing works for the course you’re applying for.

  1. Passion and positivity. Using the right kind of language shows how engaged you are and helps to highlight what makes you want to study at the postgraduate level.
  2. Check your work. Rewrite your statement until you’re satisfied, then have a friend, family member, or careers consultant read it. Proofreading is critical for avoiding mistakes.

  • Postgraduate Scholarships for Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Serbia, Turkey, Taiwan, Latin America and Caribbean, Malaysia, Philippines: £4,000
  • Postgraduate Scholarship for Vietnam: £5,000
  • Taiwan STEM Scholarship: 50% of the tuition fee
  • Women in Computer Science: 50% of tuition fee

To be eligible for an NTU International Scholarship award, you must:

  1. Have an offer of a place on an eligible course at Nottingham Trent University, including Confetti courses.
  2. Be classed as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes (‘international student’). Please visit ntu.ac.uk/scholarships for information on scholarships for UK students.
  3. Be due to enrol on the first year of a new course of study (or year 2 or 3 of an undergraduate course in the case of advanced entry) in September 2023, or January 2024. International students enrolled before January 2023 and due to progress onto the second, third or fourth year of their course of study in September 2023 or January 2024, or repeating the first year of study, are not eligible to apply.

You are eligible to apply if you have earned a Bachelor of Science in a similar science discipline, but you may be at a disadvantage compared to engineering majors who have applied. Please thoroughly review the requirements of the program in the MSME Graduate Handbook to help you decide if you are prepared for our program.

 Yes. Students with a BS degree are eligible to apply to the PhD program.

You can enter all types of work experience in the Education and Experience section as well as detailing these experiences on your CV (Resumé).

The submission of these scores mainly depends on the type of degree/ course selected at the Nottingham Trent University, Clifton Campus. For example, the GMAT test is required to take admission to an abroad graduate management program, the LSAT is required during an abroad Law School admission process, and more.
