How will the Booth MBA help you achieve your immediate and long-term post-MBA career goals? (250-word minimum)
The Chicago Booth MBA will be pivotal in enabling my transition from a technology expert to an impactful venture capital investor. During the deferral period, I plan to leverage my position at FinIQ to hone my business scaling skills, but the rigorous analytical approach and experiential learning opportunities at Booth will be crucial in polishing my investment thesis and deal structuring expertise.
Courses like “Entrepreneurial Finance and Private Equity” and “Commercializing Innovation” will equip me with the knowledge required to evaluate and nurture high-potential startups. Moreover, the “Private Equity/Venture Capital Lab” will provide hands-on experience in the venture capital lifecycle, from sourcing deals to managing portfolio companies. These practical applications, combined with Booth’s multidisciplinary curriculum, will ensure I develop a comprehensive understanding of business fundamentals to confidently embrace the challenges of the VC world.
Booth’s commitment to cultivating leadership skills through the LEAD program and electives like “Managerial Decision Making” will also be critical for steering startups through their growth phases. This training, coupled with the school’s vibrant entrepreneurial culture and diverse global network, will empower me to identify, support, and invest in businesses that can make significant societal impacts. Ultimately, the knowledge and connections gained at Booth will shape me as a trailblazer in technology, propelling innovation at the forefront of venture capital.

Frequent power cuts that snatched away even the basic comfort of electricity juxtaposed with the wave of digitization that followed. This is how I recall my days in Dombivli, a suburb in Thane, where demonetization transformed daily life. Experiencing how Unified Payments Interface (UPI) improved the lives of even the smallest of vendors by giving them access to secure transaction methods and credit lines ignited a passion for tech-driven change and inspired me to secure my place at one of the best universities in the country.
My parents, who turned their modest beginnings into lives of service through a belief in their skills and devotion to medicine, taught me that true success lies in improving lives. They instilled a commitment to leveraging my skills not just for personal growth but also for impacting communities. Guided by this ethos, I immersed myself in the Department’s Academic Mentorship Program (DAMP). I learned the power of opportunity and the importance of targeted attention as I mentored six sophomores, enabling them to harness their potential amidst the challenges of campus life. This experience inspired me to lead DAMP and extend this support system’s scope. I focused on helping students on academic probation and worked with the mentors to devise tailored recovery plans. I also collaborated with the department office to ensure the smooth running of summer courses and advocated for a more flexible curriculum. These efforts bore fruit, and we reduced the academic probation numbers from 32 to 26 by the end of the year.

I want to use this opportunity to share insights into some unsaid elements in my academic journey and professional choices, which sketch a broader picture of my aspirations and values.
While my GPA reflects a strong performance, it might only capture part of my undergraduate experience since much of my time was spent working. I decided to ensure that my education was self-financed, driven by a core value of self-reliance instilled by my parents’ journey of self-made success. I balanced my coursework with a demanding internship that offered invaluable expertise and financial autonomy. An unforeseen consequence of this choice was a temporary setback when I had to repeat a course in my seventh semester. However, I addressed this challenge the following semester, dedicating the necessary time and achieving the highest grade. This episode sharpened my ability to deal with stress, forging a resilient character ready to embrace the challenges and rigor of Booth’s MBA.
On the professional front, in choosing FinIQ Singapore, with its flat hierarchy, for my first job over larger, more established firms in India, I was guided by a sense of loyalty and the potential for a more significant impact. I became the first-ever student offered a position at FinIQ’s head office. I embraced the opportunity to assume this strategic role, which promises a rare chance to make a tangible contribution early in my career and the opportunity to experience Singapore’s vibrant VC ecosystem. This experience will equip me with insights into the mechanics of scaling businesses, insights that I am eager to share and expand upon at Booth.
These facets of my journey reflect a deliberate approach to personal growth. These decisions, perhaps unconventional, have shaped who I am today—a versatile individual poised to enrich the Booth experience and contribute to the community uniquely.
