Introduction to MiM at TONGJI SEM

The Master of Global Management (MGM) program at Tongji University School of Economics and Management (SEM) is a full-time, two-year postgraduate degree program designed for international recent graduates and young professionals with an interest in both international management and the Chinese economy.

Eligibility Criteria : MiM at TONGJI SEM

  • Above 18 years old, non-Chinese citizen and under 35.
  • Applicants for Master programs should have a Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • Healthy both physically and mentally
  • IELTS: ≥ 6.0; or TOEFL(DI code:C882): ≥ 550(PBT), ≥ 80 (iBT)
  • Native English speaker or applicants with bachelor degree taught English can be waived from English Proficiency Certificate requirement.
  • GMAT or GRE report is a plus and preferred, not compulsory.

  • Generated online application form with applicant’s signature, guarantor’s info, and signature.
  • A copy of the passport (personal information page of ordinary passport only, students must enter China with an ordinary passport, other passport types are not accepted).
  • A valid English Proficiency Certificate (IELTS 6 and above, TOEFL 80 (iBT) and above, or other equivalent English Proficiency test result such as TOEIC, etc.); Or certificate issued by the university indicating your bachelor program’s medium is English.
  • Payment evidence. If the applicant pays the application fee through a bank or online bank, it is required to provide a photo of the receipt or screenshot of the transaction. (No requirement for those who pay through the online application system).
  • Graduation certificate and degree certificate. If the certificate is not in Chinese or English, the original notarized translated versions must be submitted.

*The certificates should be notarized by the local Chinese Embassy or local Chinese Consulates (or foreign embassies or consulates in China). Or a Certificate of expected graduation issued by the current academic institution (for applicants who will be graduating after the current academic year only and must be the Original copy).*

  • The degree certificate is required to be verified, and notarized documents related to the degree certificate must be submitted at the registration.
  • Original or notarized academic transcripts of the bachelor program. If the academic transcripts are not in Chinese or English, the original notarized translated document must be submitted.

*The transcript should be notarized by the local Chinese Embassy or local Chinese Consulates (or foreign embassies or consulates in China).*

  • Original recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors (or one from the professor/associate professor, the other from the employer), both in English. Signature and contact information are necessary.
  • Personal statement. Around 1000 words in English. Study and work experience, academic research achievement, planned research proposal, and personal prospects after graduation should be included.
  • Physical health report issued within the last six months; Or valid Chinese Visa.
  • Catalog and abstract of published papers and any other material that can prove your academic research ability(if applicable).
  • Other supporting materials, such as CSC/SGS application form, approval letter from supervisor in Tongji, award certificates, admission notice from other universities, etc. (If applicable)

Notes: In addition to the application materials mentioned above, the university may require applicants to provide supplementary materials, depending on the circumstances.

MGM—Master of Global Management is a full-time postgraduate degree program customized for international recent graduates with interest in both international business management and Chinese economy, having multi-cultural aptitudes and aiming to take up international leadership positions in their career. MGM’s classes will be a multi-national community where there are students from over 30 countries and regions including China, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Morocco, Portugal, USA, UK, Netherland, Luxembourg and etc.

Native English speaker or the applicants with bachelor degrees taught in English can be waived from English requirement. An IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent English test result is required for applicants from non-native English speaking countries. GMAT and GRE are optional, but is a plus.

You may cover the topics like your study and work experience, academic research achievement, planned research proposal, your motivation to apply for MGM, and your future career development plan and etc.
