MIM Interview Experience-1

In late October, I engaged in an online interview as part of the application process for the Master in Management program at SKEMA Business School.

Before submitting my application, I had a discussion with one of SKEMA’s admissions managers, which I incorporated into my essay. Surprisingly, the interview unfolded as more of a relaxed dialogue than expected.

A key question posed was, “What is the most crucial attribute you would seek in an applicant?” This exemplified the pivotal nature of the inquiries.

The conversation delved into various aspects, such as my favorite non-work-related activities, potential areas for improvement in my application, and my motivations and concerns about joining SKEMA.

Specific queries about my professional experiences, leadership qualities, and lessons learned from challenges were also part of the insightful discussion.

MIM Interview Experience-2

I had a 45-minute meeting with a member of the adcom on… The discussion encompassed self-introduction, what makes SKEMA special, and the motivation behind joining the SKEMA MiM program. Additionally, I shared insights into my motivations for selecting specific destinations for exchange.

The interview included behavioral questions that explored leadership experiences, moments of initiative, effective communication skills, and collaborative work experiences. The emphasis was on keeping composure throughout the interview.

MIM Interview Experience-3

A few months back, I had the opportunity to interact with and interview for the MiM program at SKEMA Business School. We chatted for about 30 minutes, talking about all sorts of stuff. They threw a mix of questions my way, from digging into my background to asking why I wanted to jump into the whole Master in Management scene and why I picked SKEMA.

We started with the basics – they were curious about my academic and professional journey. It was like a trip down memory lane, sharing all the nitty-gritty details of my experiences and qualifications. They really wanted to know if I was a good fit for the MiM program at SKEMA, you know?

Then, things got interesting when they asked about why I wanted to do the MiM thing in the first place. We got into a deep conversation about my goals and what pushed me to take this academic leap. It was kind of like figuring out the why behind the what.

And of course, we chatted about SKEMA. They wanted to know what made me pick SKEMA out of all the options out there. I got to gush about the cool stuff they do and how it clicked with what I was looking for in an educational vibe.

The fun part was the scenario-based questions. They threw some hypothetical situations at me, testing how well I could apply what I’ve learned to real-life scenarios. It was like a brain workout, but in a good way.

Looking back, that chat was like a goldmine of info about the program. I got the lowdown on the courses, the vibe of the place, and what makes SKEMA stand out. The questions weren’t just run-of-the-mill; they gave me a real feel for what the MiM program at SKEMA is all about. Good times, for sure!

MIM Interview Experience-4

My interview wasn’t just about the academic stuff. Throughout the experience, there was this constant reminder of why we’re all here in the first place – to pursue a Master in Management.

Here’s a run down of the interview:

  1. Can you walk me through your academic journey and highlight any specific achievements or challenges?
  2. What professional experiences have you had, and how do you believe they contribute to your suitability for the MiM program?
  3. Are there specific aspects of SKEMA’s programs, faculty, or campus culture that particularly appeal to you?
  4. Describe a scenario where you had to apply creative problem-solving skills in a professional or academic setting.
  5. Share an instance where you took a leadership role and the lessons you learned from that experience.
  6. If applicable, specify the name of any non-profit organization you’ve been involved with and outline your specific responsibilities.
  7. Your essay mentioned a challenging experience. Which lessons from that experience do you find most valuable, and how did it shape you?
  8. How do you envision leveraging your MiM degree in the professional landscape?
  9. Do you have any questions for me?

MIM Interview Experience-5

My interview lasted around 30 minutes. The interviewer instantly put me at ease. The questions touched on topics such as future goals, overcoming obstacles in the workplace, and the specific relevance of my essays.

The queries were unique compared to previous interviews, covering aspects like the startup industry, AI breakthroughs, and the longevity of businesses.

The interviewer also sought my perspective on the present situation of the startup industry, the most significant AI breakthroughs, and the business strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I’ve mentioned below some questions that I still remember which are also quite common:

  1. How do you envision utilizing the skills and knowledge gained from the MiM program to achieve your career objectives?
  2. Can you highlight specific aspects from your essays that you think played a crucial role in conveying your qualifications?
  3. Given your perspective on the present situation of the startup industry, what opportunities and challenges do you foresee for aspiring entrepreneurs?
  4. How do you see advancements in artificial intelligence shaping the future of business and management?
  5. Regarding the longevity of businesses, what factors do you believe contribute to sustained success in today’s rapidly changing business environment?
  6. How do you think the challenges posed by the pandemic have influenced the priorities and strategies of businesses, and how can management professionals address these challenges?

The positive outcome of the interview was encouraging, reinforcing the appeal of SKEMA Business School for my MiM journey.
