Eligibility Criteria : MiM at UoM

Students in the master’s program Mannheim Master in Management should:

  • have a clear conception of how they would like to structure their master’s degree,

  • be able to work independently,
  • be disciplined and committed to their studies.

The master’s program Mannheim Master in Management is based on a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. A degree in a different field is sufficient if you have obtained at least 36 ECTS credits in Business Administration.

Besides a bachelor’s degree and prior knowledge in Business Administration, proof of your English proficiency (level C1) is mandatory (for details, please see the selection statutes).

If you apply for the German-English track, you will also need a proof of your German language skills (see Language requirements below). GMAT / GRE are no longer mandatory for your application. However, a total score above 600 points will be recognized in the selection process.

Selection criteria

  • grade of the bachelor’s degree,
  • GMAT/ GRE (at least 600 points, online tests are accepted),
  • relevant work experience, vocational trainings and qualifications, or internships,
  • studying abroad/semester abroad or additional qualifications in the areas of data analytics or sustainability.

Language requirements

  • For both tracks (German-English and English), excellent English language skills are required (level C1 or better). Applicants have to provide proof of sufficient English proficiency (please see our selection statutes for details). If you opt for the German-English track you have to submit proof of German language proficiency equivalent to level C1. You are exempt of this requirement, if you have a German higher education entrance qualification or are a German citizen, for example.

Conditional admission

  • If you have not yet completed your bachelor’s program by the application deadline, you may still be admitted to the master’s program as long as you provide proof that you have obtained at least 140 ECTS credits. In this case, your admission to the program is subject to receipt of your degree certificate by the first exam registration period in the master’s program.

In three mandatory core courses in Core Competences and two core courses in Business Economics, students acquire a profound scientific basis for the master’s degree in Business Administration.

Beyond that, students can choose from a wide range of elective courses in Business Administration.They can decide for themselves whether they want to specialize in one particular field of research or if they want to combine courses from different areas. The decision can be adjusted every semester anew, so that students can thus create their own individual academic profile.

The study concept is completed by an optional integration of an Elective (e.g. psychology, history, business law or computer science). This enables students to develop an even more individual profile beyond the boundaries of their own discipline.
