Columbia Engineering and Columbia Business School offer a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering degree, with a three-semester curriculum designed for those who want to focus on management and engineering perspectives in solving problems of complex systems.   • Three recommendation letters
  • Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test Scores*

  • An interview may be requested
  • $85 non-refundable application fee
  • International applicants or applicants whose undergraduate degree was received in a country in which English is not the official and widely spoken language must submit the following additional requirements with the application for admission:
  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language iBT (TOEFL) – including TOEFL iBT Home Edition, International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS), Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic), or Duolingo English Test (DET). The ETS School Code for the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science is 2111.
  2. Translation of the official transcript(s) and degree/diploma certificate(s) if the institution(s) attended does not issue transcripts in English. The translation must be conducted by a reputable service provider.

Specializations & Electives Offered

The Semi-Core requirements are split up into 3 categories: (1) Decision, Risk & Operations Electives (DRO), (2) Analysis Electives, and (3) Management Electives. Students are required to complete 9 credits from the DRO category. They are also required to have at least 3 credits from the Analysis electives and at least 3 credits from the Management electives, for a total of 9 credits between the two categories.

Students can refer to the CBS Approved Course Listing for additional electives that can satisfy the Semi-Core requirements.
