- The Engineering Management Master’s Degree Program is specifically designed to provide business management and technical skills to engineering professionals.

Cost:Tuition is $4,600 per course plus fees for all students, regardless of their location. In total, tuition is $46,000 plus fees. This tuition rate is subject to change.
Upon admission, a $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot, which will be applied to your first tuition payment.

Eligibility Criteria for MeM at UT
Domestic Requirements
To qualify for our Engineering Management Master’s Degree program, domestic applicants must have the following:
- B.S. in engineering or related technical field. Other degrees may be eligible, but applicants will not be admitted with deficiencies.
- Completed Online Application (plus application fees)
- A 3.0 GPA.*
- Official transcripts from an accredited college or university
- GMAT or GRE scores (UT reporting code 6882), or request a waiver, more information below.
- Resume
- Statement of purpose
- Three professional letters of recommendation
*Conditional admission may be possible if your GPA is below 3.0.
International Requirements
In addition to meeting the domestic requirements, international applicants must submit:
- TOEFL or IELTS scores, if applicable.
- Have submitted a complete application, to include transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.
- Hold a BS in engineering, science, or related program, from an ABET accredited program (https://amspub.abet.org/aps)
- Have an overall undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0+, at least a 3.0 GPA upper-division undergraduate courses, and meet at least ONE of the following criteria:
- Have at least 3 years of work experience OR
- Have a master’s degree OR
- Have expired GRE/GMAT test scores

Applications are accepted for fall and spring semesters. Please note applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Applicants, especially international students, are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Notice of an admission decision is typically sent about one month after application completion and only after all materials have been received. All materials are due by the application deadline. Please note that test scores may take up to three weeks to transmit to UT Austin.

Scholarships Available : MeM at UT
Scholarship applications are open twice a year, once in the Spring for the following academic year (i.e. – Spring 2024 applications are for the Fall 2024 – Summer 2025 academic year) and once in the Fall for the remainder of the academic year (i.e. – Fall 2023 applications will be for both the Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 semester). Specific eligibility requirements and additional details are included below under each scholarship title.
Recipients of endowed student scholarships are required to submit a thank you letter and testimonial video upon being awarded the scholarship. Funding will not be applied to recipients’ accounts until the thank you letter is received.

FAQs About MeM
What is the application fee?
There is a $65 fee for domestic applicants and a $90 fee for international applicants, paid at the time of application submission. There is no application fee for non-degree seeking applicants.
Is the GRE required for admission?
Yes, the GRE or GMAT is required for admissions review. There is a GRE/GMAT Waiver Request available. Visit the tuition tab for more details.
Are internships considered as work expereince?
You can enter all types of work experience in the Education and Experience section as well as detailing these experiences on your CV (Resumé).
Can I enroll in the master’s degree program full time?
Yes, students are permitted to enroll in the “Fast Track” version of the program. Students enrolled in “Fast Track” attend two weekends per month instead of one.
How long does it take to earn a master’s degree in Engineering Management?
The master’s degree program can be completed in as little as 4 semesters. However, students have up to five years to complete the program. Most students complete the program within two to three years.
