Eligibility Criteria for University of British Columbia: Sauder MIM

  • Three or four-year Bachelor’s degree with a B+ average, or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution*.
  • Mailed transcripts, degree certificates and translations
    Applicants who have completed their degrees at UBC will not need to send transcripts in.
  • The UBC Master of Management is designed for recent university graduates with non-business undergraduate degrees (including minors in Business Administration, Commerce or Management). You are only eligible for the UBC MM degree if you have less than 18 credits in commerce or business courses from your Bachelor’s degree.

GMAT/GRE

One of the following are required:

  • 550 GMAT with at least a 50th percentile in the quantitative and verbal sections of the test
  • 155 GRE score on both the verbal and quantitative sections

    • GMAT/GRE: Submit a GMAT score of 550+ with at least 50th percentile in quantitative and verbal sections, a GRE score of 155+ on both verbal and quantitative sections, or a GMAT Focus Edition score of 515+ with at least 50th percentile in verbal, quantitative, and data insight sections.
    • English Language Test: If your native language isn’t English, you must provide a TOEFL score of 100 or higher, IELTS score of 7.0 or higher, or PTE score of 65 or higher.

  • Resume/CV: An updated resume or CV highlighting your academic achievements, work experience, and skills relevant to the MIM program.

  • Personal Statement: A well-written personal statement explaining your career goals and motivations for pursuing the MIM program at UBC Sauder.

  • Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $165 CAD.

The UBC Sauder School of Business is pleased to offer a number of financial aid, support and assistance options available to both domestic and international UBC MM students. We encourage you to thoroughly research all options available to you.

UBC Sauder scholarships and awards

To qualify for the following scholarships, you will need to meet the merit requirements and apply by the UBC MM application deadlines outlined below. All applicants are automatically considered for the following scholarships upon application submission, so we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

Note: Normally, these scholarships are paid out using the following payment schedule: 

  • Under $1,000 – paid out entirely in one term
  • $1,000 – $5,999 – paid out in two terms (equal instalments)
  • $6,000 or greater – paid out over the three terms of the year (33.3% in September, 33.3% January, and 33.4% in May)

Community Impact Scholarship

Awarded to applicants who demonstrate their commitment to the community initiatives.
