The placement process at SPJIMR happens in two cycles:
- Autumn internships: The autumn internships are conducted at the beginning of the third semester in July. This is the SPJIMR’s first initiative launched to generate greater placement opportunities for the participants. The number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) and pre-placement interviews (PPIs) as an outcome of the autumn internship has consistently been more than 40% over the years.
- Final placements: The final placements take place in the fourth semester in January.

Eligibility Criteria : PGDM at SPJIMR
Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a recognized university. CAT and GMAT entrance scores are accepted. Both fresh graduates and candidates with a maximum of five years of work experience can apply for the program.

Application process
To apply for PGDM the aspirants must fill out the online application form available from September every year. The application processing fee is INR 2000. It is subject to revision.
Selection process
The applicants are shortlisted based on their profiles. They must also meet the qualifying scores in at least one of the entrance exams. The profiles are evaluated, and the applicants are sorted into two groups:
- Profile-based and Profile-cum-Score-based.
For selection, the applicants’ overall profile and the following factors are considered :
- Academic background – A strong and consistent performance in 10th grade, 12th grade, and every year of graduation.
- Work experience – Relevance of work experience for the chosen specialization.
- Entrance scores – Meeting the minimum eligibility cutoff in the required entrance exam is mandatory.

Scholarships Available : PGDM at SPJIMR
The main objective of financial assistance and scholarships is to provide monetary assistance to the meritorious and needy PGDM participants. The scholarship is made available after the program commences. The process takes place every academic year.
Merit cum – Means Based Financial Assistance
- The institute offers financial assistance to needy PGDM participants of the first and second year based on assessment of need, academic performance, extra-curricular activities, and conduct. The financial assistance is in the form of reimbursement of the tuition component of the PGDM fee structure.
- Applications are invited in July. A panel evaluates the financial need of the participant, as well as authenticates all the details provided. Based on panel evaluations applicants are provided partial or full financial assistance.
Mirae Asset Foundation (MAF) Scholarship
- Mirae Asset Foundation is an Indian charitable foundation that primarily works across several areas of educational development in India. MAF Scholarship is instituted by the Mirae Asset Foundation to provide scholarships to meritorious and needy participants of the first and second year, whose family income is less than INR 8 lakhs.
- Every year two participants from PGDM first year and second year are awarded scholarships of INR 5 lakhs each. The recipients of this scholarship are called Mirae Asset Scholars. Detailed guidelines are circulated among the prospective applicants after the commencement of the Programme.
Merit-Based Scholarship
- Participants who are selected for International Exchange and who fulfill preset criteria are eligible for a scholarship towards meeting expenses as exchange participants in a partner B-School of international repute. The scholarship reimburses incurred expenses of return travel from India to the international business school, visa and insurance fees, and lodging during the course work.
- The scholarship amount is based on actuals up to a limit of INR 2 lakhs, disbursed after the Institute receives the participant grades from the partner schools. Participants who rank within the top 30 of the batch based on CGPA available at the end of the first year of the program are eligible for the Merit-Based Scholarship. Further selection process guidelines for International Exchange and the scholarship are circulated after the commencement of the program.

Program Structure : MSMS at Boston Questrom
The PGDM program at SPJIMR is a two-year, full-time residential program. The program structure is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in core business fundamentals, as well as the opportunity to specialize in an area of their choice.
Year 1
The first year of the PGDM program focuses on core functional and general management courses. Students also participate in a variety of Immersive Experiences (Non-classroom learning initiatives) to develop their leadership and teamwork skills.

- Abhyudaya: A rural immersion program that exposes students to the challenges and opportunities of rural India.

- SOS: A social impact consulting project in which students work with NGOs to address social challenges.

Year 2
The second year of the PGDM program focuses on making students industry-ready. Students choose a major specialization and a minor specialization, and they complete a corporate internship and an international immersion program.

Corporate Internship
Students complete a corporate internship in their chosen field during the summer of their second year. The internship allows students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to a real-world setting.

FAQs About PGDM at SPJIMR
What is the total intake of the programme?
The intake of the PGDM programme is 240. In addition, 36 extra seats have been sanctioned for PIO/OCI, children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and Foreign Nationals. The maximum total intake of the programme is up to 276 seats. NRI applications will be considered at par with the Indian applications
Which entrance scores are accepted by the programme?
The programme accepts CAT and GMAT scores.
Can we apply for more than one specialisation?
You will be asked for your 1st and 2nd preference, out of which the 2nd preference is optional.
Can I submit the form without the CAT percentiles or GMAT scores?
You can submit your application form without the entrance exam scores, however, you will have to enter your exam registration number carefully. You may not have your CAT/GMAT scores by the time you submit the form, hence that is not expected. The submitted application form will be made available again for applicants to update their entrance exam scores after the CAT results are declared.
What will be the mode of my interview if I am overseas at the time of interview?
You will be interviewed over an online platform of the institute’s choice. (For International applicants only)
