This program’s living expenses will differ based on whether you choose on-campus or off-campus housing. For off-campus, the average monthly cost is around $1,800 CAD, including utilities. Additional expenses like food, clothing, and personal items can range from $1,500 to $800 CAD per month.

Eligibility Criteria for Smith School MIM

Admission is competitive and based on a candidate’s academic background and supporting documents, as well as overall program size. To complete an application, please ensure you have the necessary documentation and meet the following criteria:

  1. A four year undergraduate degree with a B+ (77%) average.
  2. A GMAT or GRE score – no exceptions will be considered.
  3. If English is not your first language, one of two English tests:
    • IELTS minimum overall score of 7
    • TOEFL minimum overall score of 100 or higher

    Any applicant whose first language is not English, but who, within the 12-month period prior to the month of application, has studied for at least one complete year at a post-secondary institution where English is the official language of instruction may apply for a waiver. Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete their application to the School of Graduate Studies early and in advance of the application deadline. The Graduate Committee for Business will review completed applications and admission decisions are sent to applicants in March.

Scholarships Available : Smith School MIM

MSc students receive generous funding in the amount of $26,000 from Smith School of Business. This funding is allocated from several sources – Smith Business awards, research assistantships, university fellowships, teaching assistantships and international tuition awards.

Students may supplement their package with additional research assistantship and teaching assistantship employment. Graduate students may work a total of 520 hours per year, or an average of 10 hours per week.

The program also provides funding to students to conduct research and present at conferences during the academic year.
