IE MSBA Interviews

About MSBA Interviews:

Academic and professional admissions depend on interviews. It helps evaluate candidates’ credentials, talents, and personality. Interviews allow assessors to interact with applicants and make holistic judgements. This crucial step helps institutions to discover the most promising individuals who can succeed in their programmes.

Typical Interview Method:

Interviews usually include numerous steps to evaluate an applicant’s profile. Based on academic records, essays, and recommendation letters, individuals are shortlisted. Interviews might be face-to-face, telephonic, or video-based for shortlisted candidates.

The interview assesses an applicant’s topic knowledge, problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, and programme fit. They may ask broad and particular questions to gauge the applicant’s intelligence. Interviewers analyse motivation, personality, and fit with the institution’s ideals in addition to academic ability.

Interview panels use established criteria for fairness and uniformity. Academics, extracurriculars, leadership, and problem-solving may be considered. To evaluate a candidate’s capacity to collaborate, think critically, and solve issues under pressure, interviews may include practical exercises, group discussions, or case studies.

In conclusion, admission interviews help schools find extraordinary people with the talents, qualifications, and personalities to succeed in their programmes. The systematic process allows evaluators to make educated selections and choose a varied and skilled group.

IE MSBA Interview Experience-1

The IE MSBA Admission Committee conducted a face-to-face interview with Neha. She communicated with us regarding the following Interview Experience:

“Hi, I am Neha. My interview was conducted by IE Business School alumni. She was extremely cordial for approximately 40-45 minutes. I should clarify that it was more of a conversation or general discussion than an interview. Before the interview, I was able to participate in a class and campus tour. Because of the close-knit community, IE Business School takes great pride in its students’ friendliness. I recommend engaging in some preparatory activities because they will aid you during the interview. The following is the order of the interview questions that I can recall:

  1. Walk through your resume with me.
  2. What is your contingency plan if you are not accepted to IE Business School
  3. What would your supervisor say about your strengths and weaknesses if I called him?
  4. What, according to you, is the weakest aspect of your application? I suppose this is not a generic weakness concern, but rather an application-specific weakness.
  5. What aspects of your profession cause you to stress?
  6. How did you select your references?
  7. Are there any queries I can answer for you?

Interview Tips/Observations –

Overall, it was a wonderful learning opportunity for me.”

IE MSBA Interview Experience-2

“Hey, I am Priyanshu. My personal interview for the MSBA was very conversational, and the Adcom who conducted it made me feel very at ease. For MSBA interview preparation, please refer to the following IE business school interview questions:

Questions posed:

Tell me something about yourself that does not appear on your resume.

What obstacles will you confront in changing careers, and how do you intend to overcome them?

Tell me more about your career objective and what prompted you to pursue it.

What is your most significant contribution to the IE Business School community?

IE Business School is committed to leadership. Please describe your leadership approach. Also, provide an example of a time when you demonstrated leadership.

Any concerns for me?

Interview Tips/Observations –

Overall, the interview was quite informal, and the inquisitor was extremely cordial and courteous.

IE MSBA Interview Experience-3

“I recently had my MSBA in IE interview. It lasted thirty minutes. The interview consisted primarily of conversation. The following queries were posed to me, to the best of my memory:

Questions asked:

What is the status of your application?

Tell me about your data visualisation.

What does an average workday look like for you?

During a dinner with your relatives, how would you describe your profession?

What do you do to relax?

Describe a time when you persuaded others to solve a problem your way.

Describe a time when you mentored an employee at your company.

Tell me about a time when you had to make a recommendation based on incomplete data. I wasn’t prepared for this question, but I was able to find a recent example, so this is one to look out for.

Why MSBA right now?

Why use IE MSBA?

Any concerns for me?

Interview Tips/Observations –

The IE MSBA Interview felt like a rapid-fire round, and none of the queries was tailored to my application. The majority of questions were along expected lines, based on the interview reports I have read, but there was a question about working with incomplete data, for which I had never seen a report, so I would undoubtedly prepare a story.”

IE MSBA Interview Experience-4

“My Skype interview for the IE MSBA programme was conducted on December 5, 2018. It was a relaxed and uncomplicated interview.

The questions I was asked were:

Why are you a suitable candidate for the IE MSBA Programme?

Describe a time when you assumed a leadership position.

An innovative remedy you proposed to your supervisor that will benefit everyone

Describe your most notable accomplishment and its outcome for us.

Any queries for us?

I had the opportunity to pose my own questions at the conclusion of the brief interview.”

IE MSBA Interview Experience-5

“I finished my IE MSBA Programme interview on January 18, 2019. Two days after you submit your application, you are prompted via email to complete the video interview.

The queries were quite simple and direct:

Why at this time?

Why IE Business School?

Short-term and long-term objectives?

A situation in which you had to demonstrate your leadership abilities.

Anything you want us to ask you?

Any queries for us?

Try to maintain a casual tone and avoid approaching it as an interview. Maintain composure. Be genuine. Use satire. If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.”
