Students can opt to apply to either General Track or FinTech Track. Applicants from all major backgrounds are welcome to apply. Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree before program enrollment.
General Track
Successful candidates are expected to possess a solid understanding of their major fields and a good command of finance knowledge. Some training in science, engineering, and math will be a plus. Applicants enjoy a wide range of interest in finance or financial services as their future career goals, such as IB, PE/VC, consulting, etc.
FinTech Track
Successful candidates should demonstrate substantial knowledge in math and statistics, a good command of programming language(s), and some knowledge of computer science. Candidates are likely to be more interested in working in a FinTech company or FinTech-related business after graduation.

You are eligible to apply if you have earned a Bachelor of Science in a similar science discipline, but you may be at a disadvantage compared to engineering majors who have applied. Yes. Students with a BS degree are eligible to apply to the PhD program.
You can enter all types of work experience in the Education and Experience section as well as detailing these experiences on your CV (Resumé).
Students who have already received a Master’s degree or an equivalent international advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline are not eligible for admission to Stanford’s MS program in Mechanical Engineering. Students with a Master’s degree in a discipline that does not substantially overlap with Stanford’s MS program may apply.
Students who are already enrolled in a program leading to a Master’s degree or an equivalent international advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline are not eligible for admission to Stanford’s MS program in Mechanical Engineering.
