Introduction to MeM at Ottawa University

After you receive an offer of admission, you must have official copies of all transcripts sent to the University of Ottawa directly from your previous institutions. Previous or current Ottawa students do not need to submit a transcript of their studies at the University of Ottawa. Specializations & Electives Offered
Optional courses enable students to develop knowledge and skills in an area of interest. Optional courses must include at least 3 units of engineering (EMP, GNG) courses and at least 3 units of management (ADM, MBA) courses, from the list of optional courses. Although every effort is made towards offering listed optional courses every year, students accepted in the program should verify course availability and plan accordingly. Various other courses are offered on an irregular basis as Special Topics.
It is the student’s responsibility to verify that they satisfy the prerequisites and language requirements for the elective courses that they wish to take and, after consultation with the academic advisor, to obtain permission from the professors teaching theses courses.

When does the program start?
uOttawa has made this program flexible for working professionals and as such, offers three start dates/intakes in the calendar year: Fall, Winter and Spring-Summer.
Am I eligible to apply for uOttawa’s Online Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree program?
To be eligible for admission to the MEM degree program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum two years of engineering work experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a specialization or major in engineering, computer science or physical science and a minimum admission average of 70% (B)
- Two letters of recommendation
- Resume
Note: There is no GRE or GMAT requirement for the MEM program
Can the MEM degree be tailored based on my career goals?
Yes. There are four concentrations available within the MEM degree program: Advanced Project Management, Data Analytics, Operations Management and Product Management and Innovation. You can opt for two of four concentrations or none at all, depending on your specific objectives.

How long does it take to earn the online MEM degree at uOttawa?
