Eligibility Criteria for MBA at UT Dallas
- You must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) scores. (Waivers are available)
- If you are an international applicant and English is not your native language, you may be required to submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores to demonstrate your English proficiency

- Three letters of recommendation are required, but applicants with 2 or more years of post baccalaureate experience will only be required to submit one. At least one of the letters must be from a professional contact and that contact does not have to be an employer.

Academic Excellence Scholarship: The Academic Excellence Scholarships (AES) are offered each year to incoming, first-time-college freshmen. Award criteria and amounts vary with each applicant cohort. The completed application file for admission to the University serves as the AES application. No additional information or scholarship submission is required for AES.
Comet Scholars Program: This scholarship can be used to cover education related expenses including tuition, fees and housing. Each student will receive $5,000 per year for a maximum of eight semesters of undergraduate study. Students receive more than just a financial award through this program. Comet Scholars also receive academic support from program staff to assist them in successfully transitioning to UT Dallas.

Which transcripts do I need to submit?
- Please submit all unofficial documents for review directly into the online application. You must mail all official certified, signed, or stamped transcripts after admission to Admission and Enrollment Services.
- We require transcripts from your degree-granting institution, as long as you completed your last 60 hours there. If not, please submit all prior transcripts.
- If you are an international applicant, we accept unofficial copies of your transcripts and degree certificate. You need to send official, attested copies directly from your graduating institution. Though we do not require them until before enrollment, please be prepared to provide English translations of your transcripts and degree certificates (if applicable).
- If you are requesting a GMAT/GRE waiver because you already have a doctoral degree, please also submit the relevant transcripts. Unofficial copies are acceptable.
Do I need work experience to apply?
Post-baccalaureate work experience is required; however, exceptions/waivers are considered for prior internship experience or an exceptionally strong academic record. If you have less than two years work experience, you will be considered for waiver automatically with the submission of your application.
How do I apply for scholarships?
- Full-Time MBA Program: Candidates interested in scholarships are encouraged to apply by Round 3. We consider all applicants for scholarships. Scholarships are merit-based and awarded at the time of admission. Scholarship recipients may also receive a waiver for in-state tuition. No additional action is necessary on the part of the applicant for consideration.

Either a competitive GMAT or a competitive GRE score report is required for assured admission. To be considered for an entrance exam waiver:

- The average GMAT score for the Full-Time MBA program class of 2023 is a 689, with 80% of our accepted candidates in the 650-700 range.
- GMAT scores range from 600-700 for our Professional MBA program. The class of 2023 Professional Evening Cohort program’s average GMAT score is 648.
