Eligibility Criteria for MBA at NU
Academic Qualifications:
- A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is required of all students.
- Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business is currently test-optional and does not require applicants to submit GRE or GMAT scores.
International Students:
English proficiency, both written and verbal, is necessary for success in D’Amore-McKim classrooms. If you are not a native English speaker, we require a standardized test of English language proficiency unless you completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree at an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction, or you have worked full-time for two years in the United States or other native English-speaking environment.
Additional Requirements:
In addition to the standard application requirements, they also require a passport and English translations of academic transcripts.
If you are neither a citizen nor a permanent resident of the United States, you must submit a scanned copy of your passport into the Supplemental Section of your online application.
Any scanned academic transcripts that you submit through our application must include an English translation. Include all postsecondary educational institutions you have attended—as well as any technical or professional schools—and your diploma or degree earned. Do not include transcripts from your secondary school or high school.

Merit Scholarships

Specializations & Electives Offered
Six multidisciplinary (non-business) credits are required for the curriculum. With the assistance of your advisor, you can choose from a wide range of courses offered by the six Northeastern graduate institutions the subjects that interest you. Will I have an admissions interview?
If you receive an invitation for an admission interview, your interview will be virtual. Our admissions representatives look forward to connecting with you and will provide the interview details when the date and time is scheduled.
How do I submit my official transcripts?
You will need to provide official transcripts prior to enrollment. Official transcripts are verified documents that come directly from your institution through a transcript service. Official transcripts must include degree conferral date, so transcripts should be requested after graduation.
What does Optional Standardized Testing mean for me?
You may choose whether or not to submit a GMAT or GRE score. You will not be penalized or disadvantaged if you don’t submit a GMAT or GRE test score. All applicants will be fully considered for admission and any merit scholarships for your program.
You may want to submit a GMAT or GRE test score if you feel it would enhance your application. If you choose to submit test scores, you’ll include scanned or unofficial scores in your online application and must provide official scores through the testing agency.
Written and verbal English proficiency is necessary for success in D’Amore-McKim classrooms.
What are my requirements to re-apply to a graduate program?
If you’ve applied to a graduate business program within the last year, you must submit the following:
- A completed application.
- A non-refundable application fee of $100 USD.
- Your updated resumé.
- A brief essay that describes why you are re-applying. Please respond to the re-applicant prompt in your application and share any changes in your experience or qualifications since you last applied.
- Any new transcripts or test scores you’d like to share, including GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, Duolingo, IELTS, or PTE Academic.
