ESCP MIM Interviews

About MIM Interviews:

Academic and professional admissions depend on interviews. It helps evaluate candidates’ credentials, talents, and personality. Interviews allow assessors to interact with applicants and make holistic judgements. This crucial step helps institutions to discover the most promising individuals who can succeed in their programmes.

Typical Interview Method:

Interviews usually include numerous steps to evaluate an applicant’s profile. Individuals are shortlisted based on academic records, essays, and recommendation letters. Interviews might be face-to-face, telephonic, or video-based for shortlisted candidates.

The interview assesses an applicant’s topic knowledge, problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, and programme fit. They may ask broad and particular questions to gauge the applicant’s intelligence. Interviewers analyse motivation, personality, and fit with the institution’s ideals in addition to academic ability.

Interview panels use established criteria for fairness and uniformity. Academics, extracurriculars, leadership, and problem-solving may be considered. To evaluate a candidate’s capacity to collaborate, think critically, and solve issues under pressure, interviews may include practical exercises, group discussions, or case studies.

In conclusion, admission interviews help schools find extraordinary people with the talents, qualifications, and personalities to succeed in their programs. The systematic process allows evaluators to make educated selections and choose a varied and skilled group.

Know the curriculum, faculty, specializations, and any recent developments or achievements of the program. Tailor your responses during the interview to demonstrate your genuine interest and alignment with the program’s goals.
  2. Prepare thoughtful and concise responses that highlight your skills, experiences, and motivations.

Highlight leadership roles, team projects, internships, and any experiences that demonstrate your ability to work effectively in a managerial capacity. Use specific examples to illustrate your skills and accomplishments.

Be prepared to discuss real-world business scenarios or case studies and articulate your problem-solving approach. Showcase your ability to weigh pros and cons, make data-driven decisions, and offer creative solutions to complex issues.

Use this opportunity to ask insightful questions that demonstrate your genuine interest in the program. You could inquire about specific courses, opportunities for practical experience, networking events, or alumni success stories. This shows that you are proactive and engaged.

ESCP MIM Interview Experience-1

“We’ll be having the interview over Skype.”

Time required: 25-40 minutes

A group of two or three

Candidate Presentation

The Skype interview for ESCP was quite lengthy. Both a faculty member and a member of the admissions board were represented on the panel. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. The panel asked a wide range of questions that probed the candidate’s background, skills, aspirations, wild guesses, and awareness of current events. Here are a few examples of the inquiries I fielded:
Please begin by giving us a brief overview of who you are (your hobbies, background, present activities, and future aspirations are all good places to start).

Just what did you pick up on your travels?

What similarities do you see between the cultures of India and Spain? (This is a diversion; I was actually referring to the fact that I had tried to learn more about foreign cultures by conversing with people of such cultures, such as those from Spain and Greece.)

For what reason not attend a business school in London or France? (They asked me this since they know I frequently visit London.)

I am curious as to why you went into marketing after earning your business degree.

Where do you envision yourself living and working in 10 years?

Seven, juggling multiple interests while at university may really improve productivity. (Your application materials will be mined for information.)

Would you like to talk about something current? (You should have a solid understanding of the events taking place in Europe and around the world.)

During your time in the Placement unit, what did you do?

Describe the strengths and weaknesses you brought to the Placement Cell.

Explain everything truthfully and attempt to prove your points whenever possible. Find out as much as you can about the institution to determine if it is a good fit for you. Don’t worry too much, and have a good time.

ESCP MIM Interview Experience-3

Nearly 30 minutes passed during my interview. The conversation was the mainstay of the interview format. The following is an example of a question I was asked during the interview process.

Please tell me about the thing you’re most proud of accomplishing.

Who has been the most important person in your professional life?

What fields would you like to enter after completing MiM?

Please describe an instance in which you fell short of a manager’s or client’s expectations. Please explain the situation and your efforts to rectify it.

How well do you think you would handle the rigours of a full course load?

Given your limited French language skills, how do you intend to move around the country?

When compared to other European colleges, how does ESCP stand out?

Inquiring, “Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you?”

If the M&I doesn’t work out, what are your fallback plans?

Give an account of the dream job you hope to land after graduating from business school. Where do your credentials lie? What exactly do you need to know?

Give me an example of a time when you were unable to complete a task because you lacked the necessary resources.

Tell me about a time when you were able to have a productive conversation with someone or something that was giving you trouble.

The questions were typical of interviews, so they were easy to respond.

ESCP MIM Interview Experience-4

“I met with a member of the career team for the ESCP MiM Programme for 45 minutes. It was effective as of the 18th of February, 2021.
Respond to the prompt “Why ESCP?” to introduce yourself.

Keep calm and carry on.

ESCP MIM Interview Experience-5

As soon as the allowed time was passed, the interview started.

Two Ph.D.s met me, and they would be the ones to question me.

I made sure they could see and hear me while we exchanged pleasantries.

They introduced themselves, explained what would happen during the interview, and told me when I could expect to hear back.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Why did you choose to major or work in the field of finance?

Thirdly, what makes ESCP such a compelling option for you?

Which schools within the ESCP network are you considering?

Why did you decide to attend university in London?

Please tell me more about your background in the family business/previous position.

Do you have a particular field in mind? Would you like to pursue this further?

What do you think is the most effective method of inspiring others?

Tell me about a time when you had to overcome a difficult situation and the steps you took to do so.

Please describe how your experiences and goals align with ESCP’s degree name> programme.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Why is it so important for you to be a student in country_name>?

Please describe the other institutions to which you have applied and the reasons you prefer them in addition to ESCP.

Estimate Europe’s proportion of global renewable energy production.

How do you rank the concept of globalisation itself?

Have you been keeping up with current events and policies in Europe?

Give an example of a recent business news story that you think could have a major impact on the market.

In your opinion, who do you think will win the upcoming French presidential election?

My questions were finally solicited.

This part of the interview probably wouldn’t have been as awkward if they’d just been able to understand my inquiry.

But it rapidly evolved into a chat on the dynamics of the classroom and the relationships between teachers and students.
