The 18-month Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSA) program prepares graduates for today’s world of big data. By combining technical programming skills with a rigorous approach to business problem-solving, MSA students gain the tools and the confidence to extract strategic insights from vast storehouses of data. To ensure diversity in each entering class, we admit students with various backgrounds, experiences, talents, and interests.
You must have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, comparable to Washington University’s four-year bachelor’s degree, at the time of enrollment in the program. Note: most international three-year degrees meet this requirement.

The MSBA program at Olin is unique in several ways. First, the program is offered in partnership with the Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science, which gives students access to world-class faculty and facilities in both business and engineering. Second, the program has a strong focus on experiential learning, with students completing several case competitions and consulting projects during the program. Third, the program offers a variety of specializations, including business intelligence, data mining, and machine learning.
Prior work experience is not required to apply to the MSBA program. However, applicants with strong work experience in a quantitative field, such as engineering, finance, or data science, will be more competitive.
Proficiency in a programming language is not required to apply to the MSBA program. However, students will be required to learn Python and R during the program.
